Privacy policy

We respect your privacy and process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect and why

• Name, email, phone number and delivery address: to process, deliver and support your order.
• Order and payment status (not card details): for records, refunds and tax.
• Messages you send us: to reply to you.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers who help us fulfil your order: our payment provider, the courier or locker network you choose, and our website hosting and database providers. They may only use your information for that purpose.

Customer accounts (optional)

If you create an account, we use your email address to send you login links and codes and to show you the orders placed with that email. You can save your delivery details so checkout is quicker; only you (and our staff, to fulfil orders) can see them. Login is handled by our database provider (Supabase). Accounts are optional and you can check out as a guest. To delete your account and saved details, email paaperbites@gmail.com.

Where you came from

When you arrive from a link or ad, we store the campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source), the referring site and your landing page in your browser for up to 30 days, and save them with your order or Flavour Battle entry so we can tell which posts and ads work. We do not use third-party tracking cookies for this.

Marketing

We will only send you marketing if you opt in, and every message has an opt-out.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as tax law requires (currently 5 years), then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or object to processing, by emailing paaperbites@gmail.com. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
